Nepal is ranked first in the Asia-Pacific region in terms of growth of tourist arrivals. According to data released by the Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) on the international tourist arrivals in the region, Nepal is at the forefront of such growth rate in the year.
According to PATA, Nepal’s tourist arrivals growth rate has increased by 24.8 percent this year. After Nepal, Turkey has a growth rate of 21.8 percent. Likewise, Vietnam is third with 19.9 percent, Nicaragua fourth with 17.5 percent, and South Korea fifth, at 15.5 percent.
According to the PATA, in 2018, there were 70 carror 80 million foreign tourists visiting 46 countries in the region. This is the highest number ever. Likewise, the percentage is 7.3% higher than in 2017.
Of the countries included in the report, 24 percent is above the national growth rate of 10 percent. 65 percent of the country has a growth rate above five percent. Nepal welcomed 11 lakh 73 thousend foreign tourists in the year. Nepal had met the target of rains to bring 10 million tourists in the same year.
